The Orientation
In the chapter, The Orientation, Albom describes his visit to Morrie, starting with him pulling up to his house, stalling for time, and finally waking up to a warm welcome from Morrie. The two walk into the house and Mitch is surprised with how much care is given to the old man, and begins to remember how close Morrie used to be to him. They meet in the study and they begin talking about themselves, and the lessons of life begin with Mitch agreeing with Morrie to teach him a final lesson about life. The chapter finishes with a flashback to a description of lunch with Morrie, his messy eating habits, and the origin of the coach-player relationship between them.
