Morrie Schwartz is a sociology professor at Brandeis University. When Mitch reunites with him after his Nightline feature, he teaches Mitch Albom his last lessons on life, and together they record the experience in Tuesdays with Morrie. Years after Albom graduated , Morrie was diagnosed with ALS, a neural disease. Through his appearance on The Nightline, he gains national attention, and is interviewed two more times before his death. Morrie and Albom meet on Tuesdays for their final lesson on life for 13 weeks until he passes away from the terminal disease, but his impact is still felt today through their book, Tuesdays With Morrie.
